Dr. J. Paul Tanner

Paul and his wife (Linda) lived for five years in the Middle East, while Paul was the Academic Dean and Professor of Hebrew and Old Testament Studies at the Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary. He earned his ThM (Master of Theology) degree with honors from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1981, majoring in Hebrew and Old Testament studies. In 1990 he was awarded the PhD degree in Middle Eastern Studies with a concentration in Hebrew literature and culture from the University of Texas. He has had numerous professional papers published in journals such as Bibliotheca Sacra, The Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, Near East Archaeological Society Bulletin, The Journal of the Grace Evangelical Society, and Trinity Journal.  Paul is the author of the "Commentary on the Epistle to the Hebrews" in The Grace New Testament Commentary.  He has also written a book entitled A Walk in the Psalms, which was published in Arabic in 2004.  He is currently researching and writing a commentary on the Book of Daniel for the Evangelical Exegetical Commentary Series

 

In addition to their ministry in the Philippines, Singapore and Jordan, Paul and Linda have also served the Lord in West Germany and Liberia West Africa, as well as short term teaching assignments in Kuala Lumpur, West Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Sarawak, East Malaysia.  In the summer of 1994, Paul and his son Brandon worked on an evangelistic project in the interior of Outer Mongolia, traveling by jeep to show the Jesus film. Today he actively ministers with Arab believers in numerous countries of the Middle East and North Africa. He is also currently a traveling teacher and curriculum writer for BEE World Ministries.

Bishop Alberto Patacsil

Bishop Patacsil has planted churches in Palawan (3), Pangasinan (2), and Nueva Ecija (9). He has served as the Administrative Pastor of Puerto Princesa and Cabanatuan City Wesleyan Church, as well as the National Youth Coordinator of The Wesleyan Youth for five years. His other professional ministry experiences include having served as District Superintendent for 7 years in the Central Plain of Luzon District; General Director of the Evangelism and Church Growth Department for 4 years; Chairman of the International Conference of the Wesleyan Church (the highest governing body of Wesleyan churches in 96 countries worldwide) for four years (2012-2015); and Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches from 2008-2012. He has been the General Superintendent of The Wesleyan Church of the Philippines since 2005.

Dr. Patacsil is married to Sayoko Patacsil, and is the father of Faith Yoriko and Albert Kenji.

Dr. Andrew Liuson

Dr. Liuson is co-founder and vice-chairman of Cityland Development Corporation, a real estate company awarded as the leading condominium developer in the Philippines.
 

He was inducted into the 2005 CNBC Asia Business Leader Awards Honor Roll held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He also serves as chairman of 3 educational institutions: the Global Leadership Group/International Graduate School of Leadership-Asia, Febias College of Bible, and Grace Christian High School. In 2015, he published a book entitled The Debt-Free Lifestyle.


Dr. Liuson is married to Grace Liuson.

Breakout Seminar Speakers

Dr. Jim Whelchel

Jim has been involved in training and leadership development since joining Campus Crusade for Christ in 1980. He also taught and served in leadership for more than 20 years at the International Graduate School of Leadership, most recently as Executive Director of the school. After stepping down as IGSL’s Executive director in 2008, Jim served as Chief of Staff for Dr. Tom Roxas in the regional office of Campus Crusade for Southeast Asia. In 2010 he became the field strategy leader of the Global Church Movements VP team of Campus Crusade for Christ. He helped develop a church multiplication curriculum, MC2, that is being used by CCC and its partners to plant thousands of multiplying churches and fellowships in over 70 countries worldwide. Together with his wife Dr. Lui Whelchel, Jim now serves as an elder, area pastor and missions pastor of Christ's Commission Fellowship.

He received his Master of Divinity degree (summa cum laude) from IGSL, and has an MA and Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Ateneo de Manila University.

Dr. Henry Tan

Henry has been on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ since 1972. He was former president of ISOT-Asia, and the current president of the International Leadership Consortium. He is the husband of Wilma. They have three children and five grandchildren.

Dr. Ronald Watters

Ron is a long-term friend and colleague of IGSL. Having been a faculty member for thirty years, he now has an ongoing relationship with the school as a member of the President’s Team of the International Leadership Consortium (ILC), which is composed of IGSL and its various sister schools worldwide. Having left Asia to care for his wife Alice’s health needs, he now resides in the US and continues his global work from there. He has three adult children, three grandchildren (with another that will be born in October). Apart from his ILC work, he has a volunteer staff position at the church he attends through which he mentors and coaches its pastors and other leaders on how to win, build, train, and send multiplying disciples and helps the church be more effective in helping fulfill the Great Commission.

Dr. Stephen Pardue

Steve is Associate Faculty at IGSL and Assistant Professor of Theology at AGST. He grew up in Davao City before attending college and then completing his PhD in Systematic Theology at Wheaton College (2012). Since 2012, his family of 6 has lived in the Manila area, where they love working with IGSL and AGST students. Kuya Steve is the author of The Mind of Christ: Humility and the Intellect in Early Christian Theology (T&T Clark, 2014), 4 academic journal articles, and a co-editor of the Majority World Theology series (Eerdmans). 

Rev. Rock Yoon

Rock graduated from ISOT-Asia in 1990, after which he served as the Regional Director for Campus Crusade for Christ in Korea. In 1999, he became the Missions Director and was responsible for overseeing the needs of the 280 International Representatives and families serving in 28 countries. He then became the Area Team Leader of East Asia Orient from 2008-2013. He is currently serving with Asia Leadership Foundation.

Dr. Chan Chong Hiok

CCH and his wife Margaret joined Singapore Campus Crusade for Christ (SCCC) in 1975. CCH is an MDiv alumnus of ISOT Asia. He was conferred a Doctor of Divinity in Transformational Leadership by the International Graduate School of Leadership (IGSL), Manila in April 2016. Through his forty years on Cru staff, his extensive ministry experience spanned across significant segments of society including High School and Campus students, the Military, Professionals, Business executives, Seminary Education and Church leadership. Chong Hiok formally became National Director of SCCC in 1985. CCH was appointed President of East Asia School of Theology (EAST) in October 2011.  He stepped down as Area Team Leader in July 2013 to focus on his appointment as President of EAST. He is currently also the Vice Chair for Board of Cru Asia Ltd.

Atty. Raineer Chu

Aside from being the lawyer for the largest Christian microfinance institution in the Philippines, Raineer is one of the founders of an urban poor community that has been able to plant 5 to 6 churches in the slums annually. In addition, this DMin graduate has taught at the Asian Theological Seminary for the last 9 years on church planting in the slums and how to journey with the poor. He has also taught online at Asuza Pacific University on advocacy and land rights, and has spoken in international forums such as MoveIn 2016 at Toronto; the 2014 Missions Conference at Singapore; Micah Challenge 2013 at Geneva; and Lausanne 2010 at Cape Town. In 2010, Raineer published an article on best interventions for the urban poor in the Journal of Asian Mission

Prof. Michael Cariño

Mike finished Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies at the International Graduate School of Leadership in 2009.  He is currently taking Master of Arts in Philosophy at the University of the Philippines - Dilliman, Quezon City.  He grew up as a youth leader at the Lutheran Church in the Philippines, and was a former missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ. Mike is presently a missionary pastor at the Christian Bible Church of the Philippines, a certified trainer for Conversational Evangelism, and a fulltime faculty at the International Graduate School of Leadership.  Mike, together with his wife Ethel and son Josiah, seeks to help reproduce transformational leaders in the Philippines, Asia, and beyond.

Wilma Tan

Wilma Tan has been on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ for 42 years. She is currently serving on the Executive Team of the International Leadership Consortium of CCC schools and affiliate schools around the world. She is also on the Leadership Team of The Significance Project. She frequently speaks at global and regional women’s conferences. She coaches women leaders and mentors emerging women leaders globally.

Dr. Paul Sung-Ro Lee

Having lived and ministered one third of his life proportionally each in Asia, America and Africa, Paul serves as the international director of EAPTC, facilitating over 300 ministerial training centers, kindergartens and local churches established in those three continents, in cooperation with Christian & Missionary Alliance. He currently teaches full-time at IGSL and has written a number of handbooks and articles for different publications, including Lausanne World Pulse. He holds a PhD from Oxford Graduate School - American Centre for Religion/Society Studies and is married to Eunice with two sons. Dr. Rod Santos

Rod took his doctorate at Westminster Theological Seminary after helping plant a church in Naga City.  He is a pulpit minister at GCF-West and an adjunct professor at EAST – Singapore and IGSL where he used to serve as department chairman. With his wife Malou, they lead contemplative retreats, speak in conferences, provide spiritual direction and care for people with sexual and relational brokenness. He speaks on TV programs and co-hosts a radio program entitled “Panahon ng Paghilom” under Living Waters Philippines. He authored a book entitled “Turned Off by Church: What Hurts People and What Would Heal Them” under OMF Lit. The couple is blessed with two daughters - Charity Grace and Bethel Joy, who help out in the ministry by playing flute and violin respectively.

Ptr. Derick Parfan

Derick serves as Leading Pastor of Baliwag Bible Christian Church in Baliwag, Bulacan (since 2009). He finished Master of Divinity (Biblical Studies) at IGSL in 2011 and is teaching Biblical Studies and Preaching courses as an adjunct faculty member since 2012. He also serves as one of the program coordinators of Living Waters Philippines, a discipleship/healing ministry for the sexually and relationally broken. One of his ministries is to provide gospel-centered disciplemaking resources for the Filipino Church. You can find his work at www.pastorderick.com. He is happily married to Jodi (since 2008) and enjoying being a father to Daniel (6 years) and Stephen (3 years).
